Reducing Your Vehicle's Carbon Footprint

According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, a typical passenger vehicle emits about 4.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year. This assumes the average gasoline vehicle on the road today has a fuel economy of about 22 miles per gallon and drives around 11,500 miles per year. Burning one gallon of gasoline results in the emission of about 20 pounds of CO2.

Using GetGas, the average vehicle will burn 8 fewer gallons of gasoline per year - reducing 160 pounds of CO2 per vehicle per year.
